decided i'll probably look at more modern day examples of resistance and oppression... this is meant to be the israeli west bank barrier, it needs work on it to clarify that though

if peaceful resistance doesn't work

one idea to take well known peaceful protesters and depict them in a way that suggests even the most calm of protesters have their limits when they are being attacked or oppressed. maybe a little too dramatic

also a drypoint on different handmade papers, the idea was to combine something that symbolises robustness with something weak (the papers). it's a start

new project i

current uni project i am working on is for a D&AD competition to design a poster that communicates resistance... so i thought i'd write my own brief within the brief to summarise my ideas and hopefully help me get started...

i want to contrast violent and non-violent resistance together in one image by using objects that symbolise the strength and resilience of violent resistance alongside materials that convey the fragility and vulnerability of peaceful resistance. i hope to communicate the idea that even the most oppressive forces can be overcome through resistance
